Mental Health in the Church:
How to Encourage the Discouraged
for Children's Ministry & Youth Ministry Leaders and Volunteers }

Serving children and youth is a meaningful privilege, but it also brings unique challenges that can leave leaders and volunteers wondering how best to help. Many children and teens today struggle with anxiety, ADHD, autism, trauma, depression, and other emotional or behavioral concerns. As a church leader or volunteer, you have the opportunity to create a safe, welcoming environment where every child feels seen, valued, and loved.

This Life Skills Class is designed specifically for pastors, children’s ministry leaders, Sunday school teachers, youth leaders, and volunteers who serve children. Participants will gain a better understanding of some of the most common mental health and developmental challenges facing children today. You will learn practical strategies for responding with compassion, supporting children and their families, managing difficult situations, and recognizing when additional help may be needed.
